RANDOM WAVE ANALYSIS OF LAYERED SOIL SITES UNDER SH WAVE EXCITATION

  • A new analysis technique,called random wave analysis method,is developed for the random seismic response analysis of layered soil sites under SH wave excitation.In this method,the random vibration analysis method is combined with wave theory to solve the wave equation and to obtain the seismic responses of the layered soil sites.The effects of incident angle of SH wave and elastic rock on the seismic responses of layered soil sites are considered accurately and conveniently.The influences of elastic stiffness of rock and incident angle of SH wave on the seismic responses of homogeneous soil layer on half-space are discussed through numerical results of several examples.The conclusions reached in this paper can be used as reference for seismic responses analysis of complicated soil sites in engineering practice.
