Calculation of Closed Circular Cylindrical Shells and Prilling Tower

In order that the Flügge's theory can be uscd more conveniently in practice and can solve more practical problems, the necessary improvement and supplement works to Flugge's exact solution are presented in this paper. The upper boundary conditions of the circular cylindrical tower structure are suggested by the writer. On the base of Flugge's theory and the writer's improvement and supple-ment works, the calculating tables of prilling tower arc established with which we may find directly the reinforcing steel area of reinfored concrete prilling towers of different types and sizes.
