DISTRIBUTION OF ICE ENGINEERING DESIGN CRITERIA OF BOHAI

  • The expressions for vertical profiles of ice sheet temperature, salinity and density using historical air temperature, water temperature, ice period and ice thickness of Bohai are set up. The vertical profile of ice porosity is also obtained. The compressive strength, flexural strength, shear strength and elastic modulus of the ice sheet are calculated using the experimental relationships of Bohai ice mechanical parameters and porosity. The air and water temperature distributions of January in Bohai from historical statistic data as well as the design ice thickness of different ice periods are organized using a mesh of 1/6 latitude×1/6 longitude in Bohai. The ice-sheet physical and mechanical parameter distributions of different ice periods in Bohai are thus obtained. As samples, the distributions of ice sheet design thickness, compressive strength, flexural strength, shear strength and elastic modulus for ice periods of 25, 50 and 100 years are presented.
