NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF WIND PRESSURES AND WIND ENVIRONMENT AROUND A COMPLEX-SHAPED HIGH-RISE BUILDING

  • Numerical simulation was conducted to predict the wind-induced surface pressures and wind environment around a complex-shaped high-rise building with annex.Boundary layer wind-tunnel test was also conducted to determine the wind-induced surface pressures.The numerical simulation is based on the Reynolds averaged equations and two turbulent models,the standard κ-ε model and the RNG κ-εmodel(renormalization group κ-ε model).The wind-pressure distributions on different building surfaces are obtained using numerical simulation,and compared with the corresponding wind tunnel experimental results.The wind environment around the building is also estimated with the numerical method.The obtained results can be applied to the practical design of similar high-rise buildings under wind loading.
