DEFLECTION OF STEEL TUBE-CONFINED CONCRETE IN THE LATERAL IMPACT

  • With ANSYS/LS-DYNA software, the simulation analysis on the steel tube-confined concrete members with tube wall-thickness of 3.5mm, 3.8mm and 4.5mm subjected to the lateral impact load is performed. The comparison between the simulated deflection and the corresponding test results are carried out as well. Main influence effects on permanent deflection are found out and local deformation and damage are discussed.
