THEORETICAL ANALYSIS OF CONSTRUCTION PROCEDURES OF CABLE-DOMES

  • Simulation of construction process is to find the equilibrium state of every construction stage. The relationship between the nodal coordinates and the internal forces of elements with known original length is established. Every equilibrium state is found by controlling the original length with dynamic relaxation method. Three construction schemes such as pretensioning the diagonal cables from outer to inner hoop, only pretensioning the outer diagonal cables and adjusting the length of struts from outer to inner hoop are investigated based on this method. The results indicate that the proposed form-finding method by controlling the original length with dynamic relaxation mothod is accurate and effective and the proposed construction schemes are reasonable and can be adopted into the construction of cable domes.
