APPLICATION AND STABILITY STUDY ON LARGE SPAN PRESTRESSED SINGLE-LAYAR SPHERICAL SHELL WITH RIBS

  • The stability of the shell plays a leading role in the design of large span pre-stressed single-layer spherical lattice shells with ribs. The stability is governed by many kinds of factors (for instance, different rise-span ratio, distributing cables layout, defects and distributing loads manner) that are needed to be further researched. The dynamic performance and stability of middle and short span shell with ribs have been investigated at present. Hence the stability of 110m’s K6, K8 pre-stressed cable single-layer spherical lattice shell has been systematically studied. The factors, four kinds of the rise-span ratio, two kinds of distributing cables layout, four kinds of initial defects, three kinds of distributing loads manners and so on, have been analyzed. The curves of different factors’ effect to stability have been drawn. And the optimization of distributing cable layout and the rise-span ratio have been found out, the structural performance and steel consumption of Tianjin Sports Center were compared to optimized shell. The results indicate that the characteristics of the shell have been brought into full play and ultimate capacity is improved, saving the steel of 25.7% compared to former structure. Consequently, the economic benefit is remarkable, so it can be applied to future practical project.
