CALCULATION METHOD FOR SQUAT SILO-STORED MATERIAL PRESSURE BASED ON LIMIT EQUILIBRIUM

Based on the Coulomb’s earth-pressure theory, the failure plane of bulk solid in squat silos was obtained with the limit equilibrium method, and then, the wall pressure was calculated .According to detailed analysis under different conditions, this paper put forward the simple criterion to distinguish these conditions and the corresponding calculation formula, which provides supplementations to the Code for design of reinforced concrete silos. Moreover, this research provides useful references for engineering design.
