UNIFIED SOLUTIONS OF ULTIMATE PUNCHING SHEAR STRENGTH OF SQUARE STEEL FIBER CONCRETE SLABS

  • The punching shear in concrete slabs is a serious problem in certain structural systems. The steel fiber concrete has been widely used because it has higher tensile strength and ductility than ordinary concrete. A simple analytical model is presented to predict the ultimate punching shear strength of square steel fiber concrete slab. The unified strength theory is used for the failure criterion of steel fiber concrete. The effect of the flexure capacity of the slab, the effects of the reinforcement and the intermediate principal stress on the punching shear strength are taken into account in this solution. Good agreement can be observed from the comparison between the model prediction and various test data.
