RESEARCH ON DYNAMIC PROPERTIES OF SUPERCELL HONEYCOMB STRUCTURES UNDER IN-PLANE IMPACT LOADING

  • Based on the study of triangular and hexagonal honeycombs, the full-scale deformation mechanism and energy absorption properties of supercell Kagome honeycombs under in-plane dynamic crushing are discussed in the paper. Firstly, under the assumption that the ratio of the edge thickness to the length keeps constant, the in-plane dynamic properties of the honeycombs with different cell shapes, and the combination structures are numerically analyzed. The full-scale in-plane dynamic crushing of the specimen, as well as the micro-structure dynamic evolution during the deformation is given. Then, under the conditions that the crushing velocity and relative density are all the same, the energy absorption abilities of different honeycomb structures are researched. The results will provide helpful guidance in the dynamic optimum design of micro-topology structures of the honeycombs.
