RESEARCH ON FLEXURAL STABILITY OF THE H-BEAMS WITH CORRUGATED WEBS

  • The stability of H-beams with corrugated webs was analyzed in both elastic and plastic stages. The study on the elastic stability focused on the warping constant of the section. The calculating procedure was different from that of previous researchers, and it was proved to be more accurate by finite element validation. For the elastic-plastic stability, a plenty of numerical simulations were conducted to study different parameters’ effect on the ultimate stability capacity, such as: beams’ span amplitude of the web wave and angle of inclination, etc. By the comparison with the result from the finite element analogy, the proposed method is successfully verified. At the same time, the design formulas’ accuracy and applicability are compared with each other.
