NON-LINEAR ANALYSIS AND STUDY ON ALLOWABLE AXIAL LOAD RATIO OF HIGH-PERFORMANCE CONCRETE SHEAR WALL WITH BOUNDARY COLUMNS

  • High-performance concrete (HPC) shear wall with boundary columns has good seismic behavior. However, the relevant provisions on allowable axial load ratio for this structure are not given in Chinese code. In current engineering practice, the relevant regulations for common concrete shear wall are used by designers although it’s unreasonable. Based on the seismic experiments of six HPC shear walls with boundary columns, the mechanical model was established and the experimental process was numerically simulated under the repeated horizontal loads by using the 3-Dimensional Non-linear Static/Dynamic Analysis Program CANNY. By combining the experimental research and the numerical simulation, the allowable axial load ratio of HPC shear wall with boundary columns is investigated and discussed, which provides references for amending the code and the engineering design.
