EXPERIMENT ON DYNAMIC STRUCTURE OF PROPELLER WAKE

Abstract
The authors measured the propeller wake in a uniform flow by PIV (Particle Image Velocimetey) in cavitation tunnel, and analyzed the distribution characteristic of radial and axial velocity. Then the authors computed the averaged axial induced velocity of wake and the angle of pitch of tip vortex line, thus to analyze the evolution in wake. The velocity fields were sampled according to their continuous probability distributions to analyze the turbulence flow of propeller wake, and the distribution characteristic of turbulence flow was obtained. The results are in good agreement with theoretical analysis.
