FIRE PERFORMANCE OF REINFORCED CONCRETE BEAM-COLUMN PLANE JOINTS

  • A finite element (FE) model for the analysis of reinforced concrete beam-column joints at elevated temperatures is proposed in this paper. Results from the proposed model agree well with those from the tests. The stress distribution of reinforced concrete joints at elevated temperatures is analyzed by using the FE model. The influences of the heating scenario, the axial load of columns, the beam load ratio and beam reinforcement ratio on the joint deformation, the failure modes and the joint fire resistance are investigated by parametric studies.
