EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON THE SEISMIC BEHAVIOR OF HIGH PERFORMANCE STEEL-CONCRETE SHEAR WALLS

  • Cyclic loading tests of six high performance steel-concrete shear walls are conducted, whose shear span ratios are 2.1, 1.5 and 1.0 respectively. The failure pattern and failure mechanism of the shear wall are investigated under the combined effect of axial force, bending moment, and shear force, which are affected by several factors, including shear span ratio, axial load ratio, and the amount of horizontal distributed reinforcement. The ductility, hysteretic behavior and bearing capacity degeneration are also analyzed. It is found the shear span ratio and the axial load ratio are main factors to influence the ductility of high performance steel-concrete shear walls. With the same shear span ratio, the ductility of shear walls is improved by more horizontal distributed reinforcements.
