DESIGN METHOD OF DISCRETE CONNECTOR SYSTEM FOR SANDWICH THERMAL INSULATION WALL PANELS

  • The connector system of the sandwich insulation wall panel (SIWP) is the key component to transfer the load and to resist the deformation of the outer layer. The simplified design method for a discrete connector system in the construction stage, such as fabrication, transport, lifting, installation, and in the service stage, such as gravity, wind, seismic actions, as well as temperature gradient and uniform temperature effects, were proposed. The results from theoretical analyses and finite element analyses were taken into consideration. The design process of the connector system was further proposed, considering the requirements of both stiffness and strength. The reasonable principle for the layout of the connector was also proposed. Based on the design method proposed, a tool software was developed, providing a tool for the design of connector system of the SIWPs.
