THE INFLUENCE OF AXIAL COMPRESSION RATIO ON THE LATERAL IMPACT PERFORMANCE OF CONCRETE FILLED STEEL TUBE COLUMNS

  • To study the influence of different axial compression ratios on the lateral impact performance of concrete-filled steel tube columns, the existing impact tests were verified in this paper. Based on the verification model, the dynamic finite element models of concrete-filled steel tubular columns with different axial compression ratios under lateral impact were established. The impact resistance parameters of the concrete-filled steel tubular columns with different axial compression ratios were calculated. The results show that the axial compression ratio has a significant effect on the lateral impact resistance of concrete-filled steel tubes. When the axial compression ratio is less than 0.7, the axial force increases the lateral impact resistance of concrete-filled steel tubular members; when the axial compression ratio is greater than 0.7, the axial force decreases the lateral impact resistance of concrete-filled steel tubular members.
