FLEXURAL-TORSIONAL BUCKLING OF PIN-ENDED ARCHES WITH T-SECTION UNDER A CENTRAL RADIAL CONCENTRATED LOAD

  • It focus on the flexural-torsional buckling load of pin-ended arches with T-section under a central concentrated load. In this paper, the strain-displacement relationship of T-section is obtained considering the influence of shear deformation. And then accurate prebuckling analyses for in-plane internal forces are performed. According to the principle of stationary potential energy and Rayleigh-Ritz method, the analytical solution for the flexural-torsional buckling load of T-section arch is obtained. The theoretical results of the flexural-torsional buckling loads are in good agreement with the finite element results, which demonstrates the correctness of the theoretical analysis. It is found that the monosymmetry parameters βx affects the flexural-torsional buckling load obviously while the shear deformation affects the flexural-torsional buckling load of shallow arches significantly.
