STUDY ON THE DEFORMATION PERFORMANCE OF PRECAST HYBRID STEEL-CONCRETE BEAMS

  • The deformation performance of precast hybrid steel-concrete beams with fixed ends under concentrated load at the mid-span was studied based on a static bending test. A formula of deflection curves of precast hybrid steel-concrete beams was proposed by using the singular function method. The influences of the bending stiffness ratio, length-span ratio and depth-span ratio on the deformation performance were analyzed. The results indicate that the calculated deflection values of the specimens considering the shear deformation are in good agreement with the test results. Compared with precast concrete beams, the shear deformation has more significant influence on the deformation performance of precast hybrid steel-concrete beams. The ratio of additional deflection caused by shear deformation to the total deflection increases linearly with the increase of length-span ratio, while at the same length-span ratio, it increases with the increase of the depth-span ratio. It is suggested that the effect of shear deformation should be considered when the depth-span ratio of the precast hybrid steel-concrete beam is greater than 1/12.
