EXPERIMENTAL STUDY AND ANALYSIS OF TORSION-BENDING RATIO EFFECT ON ASEISMIC PERFORMANCE OF SRC COLUMNS

  • To investigate the torsion-bending ratio effect on the SRC column stress and deformation under combined bending and torsion action, the torsion-bending ratio was selected as the main control parameter and quasi-static tests of 7 steel reinforced concrete (SRC) columns under proportional bending and torsion loading were conducted. It was studied for the torsion-bending ratio effect on the failure characteristics, hysteretic behavior, bearing capacity and deformation characteristics of the SRC columns, and it was also established for the SRC column bending, torsional bearing capacity and deformation calculation methods under the combined action of bending and torsion. The results show that the torsion-bending ratio is the main parameter affecting the aseismic performance as well as determines the failure type of the SRC columns. Both bending and torsional bearing capacity are reduced under combined bending and torsion loadings, but the torsion-bending ratio effects on the bending and torsion are opposite. Comparing with the constant torque tests, the interaction between bending and torsional bearing capacity decreases under both proportional bending and torsion quasi-static tests, and the results are more conservative.
