INFLUENCE OF ADJACENT GAS HOLDER INTERFERENCE ON WIND-INDUCED BASE SHEAR OF GAS HOLDER

  • Through wind tunnel force measurement, the effects of adjacent gas holder interference on wind-induced base shear of gas holder is studied in different wind directions and net distances. The results show that along-wind mean base shear interference effect can be divided into three types according to wind direction, i.e., shielding effect, channeling effect and wake effect. The shielding effect and channeling effect gradually become significant with the decrease of the net distance, while the wake effect is not obvious in the small net distance beyond a certain net distance. The root mean square interference effect of along-wind fluctuating base shear becomes obvious when the wind direction is corresponding to the channeling effect and the net distance is small. The root mean square interference effect of across-wind fluctuating base shear is related with the location of adjacent gas holder. The interference effect of the adjacent holder located upstream is larger than that of the adjacent holder located downstream, and the interference effect of the adjacent holder located downstream becomes remarkable only in small net distance.
