APPLICATION OF DYNAMIC VIBRATION ABSORBERS IN LOW-FREQUENCY VIBRATION CONTROL OF FLOATING SLAB TRACKS

  • The effect of the dynamic vibration absorber (DVA) on the low-frequency vibration control of floating slab tracks (FSTs) induced by wheel/rail interactions is investigated. First, the optimal attaching location, the optimal stiffness, and damping coefficient of each DVA are determined based on the modal analysis of the floating slab track, the fixed-point theory, and the identification method of equivalent mass for multi-degree-of-freedom systems. Further, through the harmonic response analysis of the FST, the vibration-absorbing performance of DVAs with different mass ratios is studied. Finally, based on a vehicle-track coupled dynamic model, the effectiveness of the DVAs on the low-frequency vibration control of the FST subjected to the vehicle dynamic loads is evaluated. The results show that: the DVAs could effectively absorb the low-frequency vibration energy of the FST around natural frequencies; the larger mass ratio of DVAs lead to better vibration-absorbing performance of the DVA; the DVAs tuned correctly and attached properly can more effectively suppress the low-frequency vibrations of the FST and more effectively reduce the transmission of steel-spring supporting forces to nearby buildings when the vehicle passing.
