MULIple targets Equivalent static wind loadS OF RESONANT RESPONSE FOR large-span roofs

  • Multiple response targets should be considered in the calculation of equivalent static wind loads for large-span roofs. A method is proposed to analyze the equivalent static wind loads for multiple targets based on the energy equivalent criterion. The procedure of this method is: according to the characteristics of wind-induced resonant response, in order to ensure structure safety, an equivalent target is determined when the total wind-induced energy absorbed by the nodes reach the peak value. On the basis of this, the formula of resonant response equivalent static wind loads for multiple targets is derived. Furthermore, the proposed method is applied to calculate the equivalent static wind loads on the roof structure of Beijing Olympic Tennis Center Stadium. The results demonstrate that the structural static response induced by the obtained equivalent static wind loads agrees well with the extreme response calculated by frequency domain analyzing method, which verifies the effectiveness and the practicability in engineering application of the proposed method.
