Abstract
Based on a large amount of measured data and meteorological data, the variation of tropical cyclone and the maximum wind velocity in coastal areas, the surface boundary layer strong wind or typhoon profile, as well as interval average wind field characteristics at different time were analyzed. The results show that the tropical cyclones appearing in Western Pacific Ocean roughly show a decreasing trend over the years, but the landfall of tropical storm in China has an opposite trend to the West Pacific Ocean. The annual maximum wind speed in coastal areas is heavily influenced by the typhoon appearance. The annual maximum wind speed measured by weather station has a decreasing trend caused by its surrounding environment changes. As the height increases, the changes of wind field are synchronous, and the turbulence intensity shows a decreasing tendency. As the average time interval decreases, the maximum mean wind speed of typhoon increases substantially, and the mean turbulence intensity of along-wind decreases faster than the value of across-wind. Shorter time interval data reveals a good fluctuating of wind field characteristics.
