DYNAMIC RESPONSE ANALYSIS OF THE CROSS-SHAPED CONCRETE-FILLED STEEL TUBE CORE COLUMN WITH DIFFERENT BOUNDARY RESTRAINTS UNDER LATERAL IMPACT

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate the relationship between dynamic response and boundary restraints of the cross-shaped concrete-filled steel tube core column under lateral impact. The dynamic response of 4 columns under lateral impact was simulated and analyzed by means of the finite element analysis software ABAQUS. Through the displacement-time curves of the columns we observed that except the cantilever column whose maximum displacement occurred at the free end, the maximum displacement occurred at the position where lateral impact applied for all the other the columns. By comparing the column displacement under different constraints, it was demonstrated that the weaker the constraints, the larger the maximum displacement.
