STATIC PERFORMANCE OF THE CONCRETE FILLED CIRCULAR CFRP-STEEL TUBULAR (C-CFRP-CFST) BEAM-COLUMN

  • On the basis of experimental study, a model was established by using FEM to simulate the deformed mode and axial load versus the mid-height deflection of a concrete filled circular CFRP-steel tubular (C-CFRP-CFST) beam-column, and the predicted results agree well with the tested ones. Developments of stress and strain of concrete, steel tube and CFRP, as well as the reaction force between the outer tube to the concrete during the whole loading process were analyzed. At last, a formula for calculating load bearing capacity of the C-CFRP-CFST beam-column were proposed, and the predicted results by using this expression agree well with those of tested.
