ANALYSIS OF TRAVELING WAVE EFFECTS ON SEISMIC RESPONSES OF TWIN-TOWER STRUCTURE UNDER HORIZONTAL AND VERTICAL SEISMIC EXCITATIONS

  • Taking the traveling wave effect into consideration, the time-history analysis of Beijing LG Building under horizontal and vertical excitations are studied, and internal forces of the frame beams are compared with results under a uniform excitation. And then the changing rules of the internal forces of those frame beams under the action effect of seismic traveling wave are discussed. On the basis of further analysis of static response of the structure, seismic design values of internal forces are obtained respectively under a uniform excitation and a traveling wave excitation, and the influence of the different types of seismic excitations on the seismic design value of the structure is carried out by comparing the difference of the seismic design values obtained from two types of seismic excitations. Some conclusions for engineering practice are drawn.
