EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON SHEAR PERFORMANCE OF STEEL REINFORCED CONCRETE-REINFORCED CONCRETE TRANSFER COLUMN UNDER LOW CYCLIC REVERSED LOADING

  • Experiments of 16 transfer columns in an SRC-RC hybrid structure and 1 reinforced concrete column under low cyclic reversed loading were carried out to research the shear performance of transfer columns. The analysis on failure patterns was done. Shear performances were studied such as displacement ductility, load bearing capacity, bearing capacity degeneration and energy dissipation. It indicates that there are three failure patterns for transfer columns including shear failure, bond failure and bending failure. Special failure patterns of the transfer columns are due to cooperation manner between concrete and shape steel. The degeneration of load-bearing capacity is obvious for specimens of bond failure and bending failure. Energy dissipation abilities of transfer columns are at the interval of reinforced concrete columns and steel reinforced concrete columns. Most specimens of transfer columns can satisfy the seismic resistance requirement of a ductile coefficient greater than 3.
