STUDY ON THE DYNAMIC RESPONSE OF ASPHALT PAVEMENT BASED ON THE NONLINEAR VISCOELASTIC MODEL

  • Because the roadbed deformation is nonlinear and the asphalt pavement has significant viscoelastic performance, the asphalt pavement is treated as an infinite long viscoelastic beam on the nonlinear roadbed. A mathematical model of the dynamic response of this beam is established under a moving load. An analytical solution of the steady response of the model is obtained by using Adomian’s modified decomposition method and wavelet method. The asphalt pavement dynamic response is simulated according to the actual road parameters. The effects of velocity, axis loads, pavement materials and temperature on the dynamic response are studied. The results show that this new method is simple, fast, and effective to solve nonlinear dynamic response problems. The nonlinear model can reflect the stress state of the real structure more accurately under the surcharge load or heavy load.
