RESEARCH ON TEMPERATURE NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF HOT STAMPING PROCESS OF HIGH STRENGTH STEEL

  • During the process of hot stamping of high strength steel, strong heat transmission pephenomenon occurs across the steel sheet/tooling interface. The changes of the temperature on both the steel and the tooling surface will strongly affect the hot formability of the steel and the life of tool. In this paper, a coupled heat transmission model of the contact interface is proposed; moreover, based on heat transfer theory and a general shell finite element analysis method related to temperature, the temperature distribution fields in both the steel sheet and tooling surface during a hot stamping process are established. A good agreement comparison between numerical simulation and experimental results of u-shaped steel shows the validity of the present coupled heat transmission model.
