COMPARISON OF THE PSEUDO-STATIC METHODS FOR SEISMIC ANALYSIS OF THE UNDERGROUND STRUCTURES

  • The widely used pseudo-static methods for the seismic analysis of an underground structure are introduced, such as the seismic coefficient method, the free-field racking deformation method, the soil-structure interaction coefficient method, the response deformation method and the response acceleration method. Based on the Daikai subway station, a study on applicability of the methods is carried out by changing the input earthquake waves, the stiffness of a structure, the stiffness of soil and the burial depth of a structure. And the results obtained through the methods are compared with those obtained through the dynamic analysis method. The comparison shows that the results obtained through the response acceleration method and the dynamic analysis method are in a good agreement. Thusly it is indicated that the response acceleration method has a high applicability and good computational accuracy and is suitable for the seismic analysis and design of underground structures.
