A SIMPLE ALGORITHM FOR THE ARMATURE’S MOTION PARAMETERS DURING RAILGUN’S LAUNCH PROCESS

  • The simulation methods of the railgun’s launch process are introduced. The analytical solution to loop current #em/em#(t) during railgun’s launch process is obtained on the assumption that the armature’s displacement x(t) and its velocity v(t) are viewed as independent functions. Based on the fundamental equations of loop current #em/em#(t), the armature’s displacement x(t), velocity v(t) and acceleration a(t), a simple algorithm for the armature’s motion parameters during its launch process is put forward and the algorithm’s flow chart is presented. The selection techniques of the time steps and the convergence criteria are discussed. The algorithm can be transplanted into any finite element method software with a second-development platform. Its effectiveness and reliability is verified by sample problems.
