PERFORMANCE OF CONCRETE-FILLED STEEL TUBE REINFORCED CONCRETE COLUMNS WITH SQUARE SECTIONS

  • This paper developed a nonlinear finite element modelling (FEM) to simulate concrete-filled steelube reinforced concrete column with square section under cyclic loading. In the FEM, the cumulative damage of concrete under a reverse loading, nonlinear geometric behaviour, bonding-slip between steel bars or steel tube and concrete were considered. A good agreement was obtained between the experimental results and the predictions based on the FEM. By using the FEM, the mechanism of the composite column under the combined axial compression and cyclic lateral loading was analyzed.
