Abstract:
The Problems for analyzing vibration and stability of circular arches with variable cross-section are equivalent to the one of determination of eigenvalue for differential equation with particular type.A convenient method for solving problems of the kind is presented in this paper. The coefficient matrix of the characteristic equ ation is reduced to third order in calcuation no matter how many elements discretized.

In this paper, the elastic stability analysis of the cylinclrial panel is presented Using nonlinear finite element of the Quasi-conforming model, and a geometrical nonlinear shell stability analysis method is suggested Numerical examples indicated that the needed number of the elements of the Quasi-Conforming model is only a quarter of that of the displacement model for reaching the same computiug accuracy.

Abstract:
Geometrically nonlinear problems of laminated anisotropic plates have always been tedious, complicated ones which causes a lot of laboure, and there is considerable limitation in various previous solving method, owing to the complex nature of the governing equations and the boundary value problem. This paper suggest that a simple, direct and effective method——weighted-residual method be applied to solve this kind of Complicated problem,by taking the combination of quintic B-Spline functions, which have fine fitness and flexible adaptability to boundary conditions, as the basis of try-function, and then using the damping least square method. A comparative universal program has been organized. As shown by some concrete examples, the presented method possesses those advantages, such as stability in convergence and accuracy in results. Furthermore tho solving process is simple, direct and integrative, and convenient for standardizing programes and extending application.

An extension of the Courant's suggestion in [1] is made A method called modified Kantorovich method is Provided. The applications of modified Kantorovich and modified Ritz method are then discussed for the torsion problem of a beam of rectangular cross section respectively. Therefore, a considerable and additional suggestion on Courant's is given.

In this paper three methods for forming the initial vectors of subspace iteration are presented and numerical examples with application of each are also given. Different initial vectors should be so chosen for different structures that to make the iteration loop leading to fast convergence.

Abstract:
Till now, for the problems fo find the stress—loss of a prestressed concrete beam according to the nonlinear elastic-creeping theory, there exist not any exact solving methods. In this paper, the author suggestes a method, with which we may find out the exact value of stress-loss, and a practical example is worked. By comparing this method and the approximate method stated by the author, we may observe the reliable degree of the approximate method.

In this paper the conversion ralation of the dynamic behavior (the natural vibration periods. the particapation factors, the maximum seismic base shear and the maximum seismic stresses) of geom etrically similar structures is deduced. It is concluded that the similar ratio 位 is the most important parameter in discussion of the influence of higher modes. For geometrically similar structures, the difference of its absolute sizes is greater, the difference of influence of higher modes is also greater. Therefore, the conclusion about the influence of higher modes for a certain structure is not always held for another similar structures in general.

This paper advocats to make monitoring measurement of displacement during constrction and determuine original rock stress insitu and consider the original rock stress and surrounding rock pressures as of general, non-homogeneous distributed condition, utilizing the theory of complex rariable function for shotcrete lining in a circular tunnel to find the solution. Figures are drawn for the surrounding rock pressure s and tangential stresses at the internal edge of shotcrete formaton. By simple calculation according to these figures, the mechanical analysis and strength check of shotcrete formation can be made conreniently. This paper gives a calculation example to illustrate the employ of these figures.
