BUCKLING OF THIN CYLINDRICAL SHELLS UNDER LOCALLY AXIAL COMPRESSION

  • 摘要: 采用非线性有限元法对局部轴向压力作用下圆柱壳的屈曲进行了全过程分析,并对其进行了试验研究.有限元分析和试验结果都表明,圆柱壳在压力作用位置附近发生局部屈曲并形成局部凹陷,维持后屈曲平衡的是一个近似常量的压力.该压力即为圆柱壳的后屈曲承载力,它决定着圆柱壳的实际承载力.在其它因素相同时,该压力与壳体厚度t5.2成正比.

     

    Abstract: Whole process analysis of cylindrical shells under localized axial forces is carried out by nonlinear finite element method, and a comparing experiment is reported in this paper. Both finite element analysis and experimental study reveal that, a thin cylindrical shell buckles near the area where local forces are applied, and a local dimple appears due to buckling. A more-or-less constant force is required to maintain the equilibrium of the dimple in the post-buckling stage. The force is taken as the post-buckling load of a cylindrical shell and it may govern the actual buckling load of the shell. The formula to calculate the force is given in this paper.
