Abstract:
To avoid perforations and welds caused by reinforcement anchorage at steel reinforced concrete joints, a new type of fan-shaped anchor plate was proposed. The influence of anchor plate form, of bar diameter and of embedment length on mechanical anchorage performance were analyzed by the center pull-out test of the reinforcement with fan-shaped anchor plate. The test results show that: the reinforcement with fan-shaped anchor plate can avoid the shear stud, which is convenient for construction and has positive anchoring behavior. The failure mode is concrete splitting failure when the embedment length of reinforcement is 5
d-7
d. Whereas when the embedment length is 8
d-12
d, the failure mode is tensile failure of reinforcement and, the anchorage coefficient of reinforcement is greater than 1.25, indicating a good anchoring behavior. The ultimate bond strength decreases as the diameter and the embedment length increase, the embedment length is suggested to be 8
d. This work proposes an ultimate bond strength formula for the reinforcement with fan-shaped anchor plate that accurately reflects the squeezing and splitting effect of the fan-shaped anchor plate on the concrete.
